Private View -Thames Barges
Last night was the private view of 'Bridging Waters' a collaboration of work between the Canadian Textile Group Articulation and the Material Girls. It can be called a great success, the exhibition received good publicity from the local press and we were supported not only by family and friends but also by local councillor Andrew Curtin and the Deputy Mayor of Havering, Lynden Thorpe.
Over the next few days more images will be posted but to keep you going here's a taster of Thames Barges by the Material Girls.

February - Nearly There!
Today was our last meeting before setting up our Exhibition next week. So much to discuss and plan. Everything is almost ready, a few last minute pieces to prep. The work has arrived from our Canadian partners, Articulation Textile Group. Lots of oooohs and aaahhhs as we all viewed it for the first time.
Our own work is a riot of colour, technique and interpretation. The 3d pieces were seen today in their entirety, its so diverse how everyone interprets the theme of "water" for these. And the flotilla which was assembled is also something I'm sure will make a very eye catching display.
As well as discussing last minute arrangement, who is bringing what and when... we also had a visit from a photographer, taking photos to support an article in the local press, so look out for that.
See our poster below for full information - but this little lady will be waiting to see you all.
